Privacy

Unified Purchasing Group of Canada, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as either, “UPGC”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information on this website (the “Site”). We believe it is important for you to know how we treat your personal information. In visiting the public portion of the UPGC website, you do not have to tell us who you are or reveal any personal information. Our servers collect the domain names, operating system in use (e.g. Windows) and browser (e.g. Internet Explorer). This information is used to measure the number of visits, average time spent on the site, pages viewed, etc. UPGC uses this information to assess the use of our site and to improve its contents. There is a specific section of the UPGC website where you may request additional information from us by either e-mail or regular mail. If you would like us to provide further information, you then need to provide us with some personal information (e.g. name and address). In doing so, UPGC respects the privacy of its visitors and we safeguard your confidential information.

Shareholder information

This website also provides purchasing, informational and other services to UPGC shareholders.  Because this website provides general information and Shareholder specific information and services, this website contains pages that are accessible by the general public and pages that are only accessible by Shareholders.  

This site also contains pages that are devoted to, and accessible by, each Shareholder on an individual basis.  Commercially reasonable security precautions have been put into place to help prevent the access of such pages by others. Some of the Shareholder-specific data comes from information UPGC already has and information submitted directly by Shareholders through this site.  

With respect to the Shareholder specific information, UPGC will continue to collect and use such information, in a manner consistent with the mission of UPGC and UPGC’s general Shareholder Privacy Policy, which will be posted on this site when adopted by our Board of Directors.  

With respect to Shareholder transactional information, and to the extent transactions take place on this site as opposed to a linked site, UPGC will collect and use such information to carry out the transaction.  To carry out the transaction, UPGC will be required to disclose the information, to certain of its employees and agents and to appropriate third parties who are a part of the transaction chain. UPGC may also collect and analyze such Shareholder transactional data to evaluate suppliers and distributors and to otherwise best service its Shareholders and fulfill its mission.  

UPGC will not share a Shareholder’s information with another Shareholder or any other party not referenced in this privacy statement or the UPGC’s Shareholder Privacy Policy. UPGC often aggregates certain Shareholder information and provides it to other parties in such a manner as to not identify any particular Shareholder, or otherwise uses such information in the aggregate, in a manner consistent with the mission of UPGC and the Shareholder Privacy Policy. UPGC will not share or sell any information collected at this site for direct marketing purposes.

In addition to the other uses described above, UPGC will use information you provide on this site to contact you in response to any inquiries or requests you may have, to describe and/or offer UPGC services to you and to otherwise communicate with you.

With whom does UPGC share information?
UPGC will not sell, rent, loan, transfer, or otherwise disclose any Personal Information to third parties except as set forth in this statement. UPGC may share Personal Information with third parties under the following circumstances: (i) in connection with a court order, subpoena, government investigation, or when otherwise required by law; (ii) in the event of a corporate sale, merger, acquisition, or similar event; (iii) working with third party companies to support the Site’s technical operation or execute a specific promotion or program (such as providing responses to the comments page, conduct surveys, or maintain a database of visitor information, etc.); or (iv) in connection with the execution of promotions or programs with the marketing departments of the KFC, Taco Bell or Pizza Hut Brands, the marketing and media cooperatives and committees. If Personal Information is shared with any third party for the purposes of executing a specific promotion or program, it will be clearly communicated to visitors that the third party will have no right to use the Personal Information for independent purposes. In support of this policy, UPGC will enter into written agreements with any third party receiving Personal Information requiring the third party to comply with UPGC’s privacy policies and applicable laws.
